Earth’s Perfect Place

June 17th, 2008

Just how detailed did God get when He created Earth—what makes its design so special? Life is only possible because of the delicate balance of many factors. In fact, life could not exist on Earth if any of the following conditions existed:

Earth

  • A smaller Earth
  • A larger Earth
  • A slower rotation
  • A faster rotation
  • A thicker crust
  • A thinner crust
  • A lower atmospheric oxygen-nitrogen ratio
  • A greater atmospheric oxygen-nitrogen ratio
  • More ozone
  • Less ozone
  • The sun 2-5 percent farther from Earth
  • The sun 2-5 percent closer to Earth
  • A 1 percent fluctuation in the amount of sunlight that reaches Earth
  • A smaller moon
  • A larger moon
  • Another moon
