Campers enjoy the Sabbath morning hymn sing

Hey guys, another quick update on what’s going on here at camp. On Sabbath, there was a hymn sing and then brunch, and then Director Wayne Turgeon spoke for the sermon and a local deacon, Mr. Mark Saranga, related an awesome story about the effect the campers had on a local businessman who happened to be in the Mail Processing Center while they were there. Afterward, we all fellowshipped for a few hours and campers munched on muffins and fruit while they waited for dinner time. After dinner, it was a special video about camp and then the second dance of camp.

Sunday, the schedule was pushed back a little to allow for a later breakfast, etc. Then there were two class periods, a late lunch, another class period and then formal dinner/wacky games/faculty home visits.

Yesterday was a full day of classes and then Open Sports after dinner, which is when campers get to choose which activity they want to do for the evening. I went over for basketball. The campers are pretty good this year; I think All-Stars will be pretty competitive! But the attitudes were still great. After we got out, fellowship hour out under the carport was the usual excited buzz. Open Sports dance was the big thing—they learned a lot of cool moves. Dance instructor Mike Dattolo told me he was really impressed with everything you teens are able to learn. I think I should’ve gone!

That’s it for now. It’s been a packed camp and you guys are all awesome! Including all you guys out there who aren’t able to make it this year! You’ll get your opportunity! See ya next post.
